A look at the new infotainment system in the 2023 Toyota Corolla

For 2023, the Toyota Corolla has received a host of upgrades, including the application of an all-new infotainment system.

It provides an 8-inch display as standard, and gets a more powerful processor. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, the touchscreen is more responsive and there’s an available 8-speaker JBL audio system for the XSE grade, so your MP3s will sound as crisp as ever.

While all those entertainment additions are nice to have, the system is also your home for a number of new safety and connected features to make living your life with your Corolla that much easier.

Thanks to cloud-based navigation, the system can now look at your chosen route in real time and update as you go along if the traffic ahead suddenly gets more dicey due to an accident, for example. Choosing your destination, meanwhile, is as simple as uttering the “Hey Toyota” command and it will find you anything from the nearest pizza parlor to the nearest gas or service station and even tell you the hours of operation or Google star rating. Everything is updated over-the-air, so if new restaurants pop up, the system will hear about them. On top of all that, the Destination Assist feature will contact you with a live agent, 24/7.

In addition to all the new in-car features, the Corolla’s new multimedia system also allows for Connected Services such as Remote Connect that allows you to start your car from afar and unlock your doors, while Safety Connect will automatically send out an SOS if an accident occurs. There’s even a Service Connect feature that monitors your car’s heath and can notify the dealer directly if a service needs to be done.
