It will also be available in three grades: Core, launch-year-exclusive Circuit Edition, and ultra-limited MORIZO Edition. Let's dive in and explore everything this vehicle has to offer.

Whoa, Nelly! Toyota has really turned the compact market on its head with the announcement of its all-new 2023 GR Corolla. Starting at an MSRP of $45,490, this little rocket ship comes standard with a 1.6L, 3-cylinder turbo engine that delivers an impressive 300 hp and up to 295 lb-ft of torque. That power is put to the pavement via a GR-Four AWD system with customizable front-rear power settings.

The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Core is the most affordable of the three grades offered in Canada, starting at $45,490. Even so, it's packed with features that make it a joy to drive. It comes with 18” black alloy wheels, and GR Sport seats, as well as an 8” Toyota Multimedia system with Service Connect, Remote Connect, Safety Connect, and Drive Connect enabled (subscription required). It also has 6-speaker audio system and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. And, unique to Canada, the GR Corolla Core comes standard with heated front seats and front and rear Torsen Limited Slip Differentials (LSD).

The mid-grade is the Circuit Edition with a starting MSRP of $53,990, which is a limited production launch-year exclusive model. It builds on the Core by adding a carbon fibre roof, GR red caliper brakes, a vented hood bulge, rear spoiler, GR suede seats, a heated steering wheel, a signature shift knob and an 8-speaker JBL Premium Audio system.

The MORIZO Edition is the final and last grade in the GR Corolla line-up. Priced at $59,990, this limited production model is named after Akio Toyoda's racing moniker and features a re-tuned engine that delivers 295 lb-ft of torque. The rear seats have been removed to save weight, and the driver and navigator are held in place by Brin-Naub and synthetic leather-trimmed GR sport seats with red stitching and red mesh inserts. Other features include a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission with an Ultrasuede-clad MORIZO signed shift knob, forged 18” alloy wheels, carbon fibre roof, rear lip spoiler, vented hood bulge and a suede-clad steering wheel. This track-focused Corolla is sure to turn heads on both the street and the track.

Toyota has thrown down the gauntlet with the all-new GR Corolla. Packing serious performance into a compact body--and at a surprisingly aggressive price point--the GR Corolla is sure to turn heads and rewrite the script in the highly competitive compact sports car market.
