Toyota receives 14 residual awards from J.D. Power

Toyota has never failed to deliver quality products, but recognition from a third party is always the ultimate mark of respect. And for 2021, once again, J.D. Power's ALG Awards are here to prove it.

In fact, Toyota Canada has received 14 ALG awards for the best 2021 residual value in the country. Toyota finished first for the second year in a row as a mainstream brand.

Basically, the ALG awards recognize 2021 models that are expected to retain the highest percentage of their MSRPs (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) over the next four years.

Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO of Toyota Canada, said: “Toyota Canada is honored to have received these awards and to earn the continued trust of customers in our brands. Vehicle depreciation is a large part of the cost of ownership and our leadership in residual value is another reason our customers choose our vehicles. "

In addition to taking first place as a mainstream brand, Toyota received seven individual awards, more than any other brand. Here they are:

  • Compact car: Corolla
  • Compact SUV: RAV4 (2nd year in a row)
  • Full-size car: Avalon
  • Full-size pickup: Tundra (12th year in a row)
  • Mid-size pickup: Tacoma (11th year in a row)
  • Three-row mid-size SUV: Highlander (2nd year in a row)
  • Off-road SUV: 4Runner (2nd year in a row)
