Toyota vehicles stand out in 2022 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

Toyota vehicles stood out in the latest J.D. Power Initial Quality Study's findings which were released a few weeks ago. The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study aims to determine the vehicles that have the fewest problems during the first 90 days of ownership and this year, Toyota ranked fourth overall among all automakers for initial quality.

To determine which vehicles offer the best initial quality, J.D. Power speaks with over 80,000 owners who purchased a 2022 vehicle. These owners are asked a series of questions in order to determine how many problems they had with their vehicle during the first three months. Vehicles are then ranked according to the fewest number of problems faced by new owners. With just 172 problems per 100 vehicles, Toyota did significantly better than most of its direct competitors including Honda, Mazda, Subaru,, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen.

Moreover, the popular Toyota 4Runner finished first for initial quality in its segment, highlighting once more its value. It finished ahead of the Kia Telluride and the GMC Acadia. These latest awards from J.D. Power once again prove that Toyota vehicles are among the best new cars and SUVs you can buy.
