Two Powertrains, Two Purposes

Every 2026 Tundra runs on Toyota's i-FORCE 3.4L twin-turbo V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, but the tuning differs by trim and drivetrain.

4x2 Models (Rear-Wheel Drive):

The base SR 4x2 produces 348 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque - enough for daily driving, light hauling, and towing. If you rarely leave paved roads and want the most affordable entry point, the 4x2 delivers. The 4x2 configuration returns an estimated 12.0 L/100 km combined - the most efficient option in the Tundra lineup.

4x4 Models (Four-Wheel Drive):

All 4x4 Tundra models receive the higher-output version of the i-FORCE engine, producing 389 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. This extra power makes a noticeable difference when towing or merging onto the highway. The 4x4 models return an estimated 12.2 to 12.4 L/100 km combined, depending on bed length and trim. The Tundra Hybrid 4x4 (available in select trims) improves that to 11.7 L/100 km combined - a modest but meaningful gain if you rack up highway kilometres.

Cab and Bed Configurations

The Tundra is available in two cab styles:

  • Double Cab: Seats five, available with a 6.5-foot regular bed or an 8.1-foot long bed. The long bed is ideal if you haul full sheets of plywood or need maximum cargo length.
  • CrewMax Cab: Seats six, paired with a 5.5-foot regular bed. The CrewMax offers more rear legroom for passengers and is the better choice for families or crews who spend long hours in the truck.

All 2026 Tundra models with regular beds now come with a larger fuel tank, which extends highway range between fill-ups.

SR: The Work-Ready Foundation

Who it's for: Contractors, fleet buyers, and anyone who needs a capable truck without paying for features they won't use.

The SR is the base trim, but it's far from stripped down. You get bi-beam LED headlamps, an eight-inch touchscreen with Toyota Multimedia (including Safety Connect, Service Connect, and Remote Connect), fabric upholstery, and single-zone automatic climate control. The windshield wiper deicer and rear window defogger are standard - practical touches for Ontario winters.

The SR also includes Toyota Safety Sense, which covers automatic emergency braking, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, dynamic radar cruise control, and sway warning. Most of these systems are standard across the entire Tundra lineup.

The SR is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations. The 4x2 is only available in Double Cab format with either a regular bed or long bed. If you need maximum bed length, the SR 4x2 Double Cab Long Bed gives you an 8.1-foot bed and rear-wheel drive at the lowest price point in the lineup. The SR 4x4 is available in both Double Cab and CrewMax configurations.

SR5: Comfort Meets Capability

Who it's for: Buyers who want a daily-driver truck with more refinement than the SR, but don't need luxury features.

The SR5 4x4 CrewMax steps up with 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The three-setting Drive Mode Select system lets you adjust throttle response and transmission shift points for different conditions. LED fog lamps and an active front spoiler improve visibility and aerodynamics.

The SR5 also gets the higher-output engine (389 hp / 479 lb-ft), which makes a noticeable difference when towing or merging onto the highway. Hill Start Assist Control prevents rollback on steep inclines - useful if you're launching a boat or backing up a trailer on a grade.

Limited: Refined and Tech-Forward

Who it's for: Buyers who want a refined, tech-forward truck that's as comfortable on a road trip as it is on a job site.

The Limited trim adds premium touches like leather-trimmed seating, a power-adjustable driver's seat with memory settings, and an upgraded audio system. The Limited also includes advanced driver-assistance features and enhanced connectivity options that make long drives more comfortable and convenient.
